And there was a big pool (biggest private pool in the BX) where they'd play these types of joints, a lot of rappers and R&B cats from BX & Westchester would hang there (as it was like the pseudo Hamptons for them until rappers could actually afford the Hamptons!)

On Saturday, October 31st, Bushwick went straight Indiana on some mini motor bike race around a small track outside the recently opened restaurant, Roberta's. There was cheer and plenty of beer, no rhyme intended, I mean it.

Empire State Building gets spun!

The colors!The colors!Legendary jamband icons The Grateful Dead were honored Monday night by "tie-dying" the top of the Empire State Building. The building-topping lights were altered in celebration of the upcoming exhibit at the New-York Historical Society (and as a tribute to all the mind altering you experienced if you ever saw The Dead!

Even though the exhibit doesn't open until March 2010 the New-York Historical Society is kicking off the celebration Wednesday night with an exclusive cocktail reception featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, two founding members of The Grateful Dead. Tax-deductible tickets for The Grateful Dead: Now Playing at the New-York Historical Society are available for $300 apiece.

The exhibit, which doesn't open until March of 2010, will feature artifacts detailing the history and legacy of the band, the exhibit will feature a wide array of artwork and other relics created by band members and fans.
